The University of Northern Iowa volleyball program hosted its annual Media Day today in the McLeod Center.

Head coach Bobbi Petersen addressed the media in a news conference format and then the student-athletes were made available to the media as well.

UNI has been selected as the preseason favorite to win the Missouri Valley Conference title. UNI has won 54 straight MVC regular season matches heading into the 2012 season. UNI has also won three straight MVC Tournament titles to run its winning streak vs. MVC opponents to 60 in a row entering the upcoming season.

UNI will play host to 11 home matches in the 2012 season, including the home opener on Sept. 11 against Northern Illinois.

"We have an amazing home crowd," Petersen said. "It's just tough to get opponents to play us here. We'd love to have more home matches."
