The team of Matt Hill, Rodney Anderson, Chris Schrage, Chad Emerson and UNI freshman Erin Dohnalek won with a sizzling 17-under 55. They edged the defending champion group of Bruce Kalin, Jeff Donaldson, Kirk Walker, Phil Krone and UNI sophomore Sharnae Lamar who carded a 15-under 57.

UNI senior forward Amber Kirschbaum got a chance to show off her golf skills.

"We had a great turnout," Kirschbaum said. "All the girls had a good time getting to know our fans and we really appreciate their support of our women's basketball team."

Following 18 holes of golf at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course was dinner and a program to recognize the winning golfers. The program featured UNI Director of Athletics Troy Dannen, Sr. Associate Athletic Director Jean Berger, senior Amber Kirschbaum and Head Coach Tanya Warren.

"The fourth annual women's basketball Golf Gig was a huge success," Warren said. "Once again we had ideal weather to enjoy some golf. Combine that with our incredible supporters and we couldn't have asked for a better day."

"John Bermel and his Pheasant Ridge staff did an incredible job helping this to be our best outing yet. I would like to thank all our sponsors who allowed us the opportunity to host our fourth annual Golf Gig. It was a great way to kick-off our 2012-13 season and we look forward to seeing everyone in the McLeod Center in November."
