The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team completed its first weekend of action this fall with three matches on Sunday at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.
UNI's doubles team of Chelsea Moore and Jessica King scored a 9-8 win over Iowa's Christina Harazin and Caitlin Hindmarsh.
King also saw action in singles' play but dropped a two-set decision to Milwaukee's Kristin Kurer, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4).
UNI's Krissy Lankelma also came up on the short end of a 6-0, 6-4 decision to Minnesota's Aria Lambert.
"We struggled a bit on day one, but we got better as the tournament went along," UNI head coach Mariana Cobra said. "We got a lot of matches in and that's what we need to do in the fall season."
