"The staff and I are so proud of these hard working young women. They truly represent the best of what intercollegiate athletics is all about. Like all of the UNI student athletes, this team is following the academic vision set forth by Troy Dannen. They are students first."
This adds to the growing number of academic awards received by the Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track & Field programs. Last year all four programs exceeded the average grade point averages of general student population. In the 2011-12 academic year, 18 women and 14 men on the UNI track & field squads achieved a cumulative GPA above 3.20.
In addition several athletes in 2012 were awarded for their outstanding success both, academically and athletically.
