• The UNI Panthers men’s basketball team (3-0 overall) will travel to Nassau, Bahamas, this week to take part in the Battle 4 Atlantis.
• In UNI’s tournament opener, the Panthers will take on the No. 2-ranked Louisville Cardinals (3-0 overall) on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
• Louisville is off to a 3-0 start this season after recording wins over Manhattan (79-51), Samford (80-54) and Miami of Ohio (80-39).
• The winner of the Louisville-UNI game will take on the winner of the No. 13 Missouri vs. Stanford matchup in the semifinals. The loser of each game will also meet on the consolation semifinals.
• The bottom half of the Battle 4 Atlantis bracket features No. 19 Memphis vs. VCU and No. 5 Duke vs. Minnesota.
• UNI has never met Louisville, Stanford, Memphis or Duke.
• The Panthers are 1-3 all-time vs. Missouri. UNI’s only win over Missouri came in the first round of the 1990 NCAA Tournament in Richmond, Va. UNI’s Maurice Newby hit a 3-pointer in the final seconds to give UNI a 74-71 win over the Tigers.
• UNI is 0-1 all-time vs. Minnesota with the only matchup coming in the second round of the 1990 NCAA Tournament. The Golden Gophers scored an 84-78 win over UNI in Richmond.
• UNI and VCU met last season in Richmond, Va., with the Rams scoring a 77-68 win over the Panthers in a BracketBusters matchup.
• The UNI men’s basketball team received two votes in this week’s Associated Press top 25 poll.

TELEVISION INFORMATION
Thursday’s game between UNI and Louisville will be shown live on the NBC Sports Channel.
    The semifinals of the tournament will be shown live on the NBC Sports Channel. The consolation rounds will be shown live on AXS TV.

    NBC Sports channel is ch. 220 on DirecTV and AXS TV is ch. 340 on DirecTV. Check with your local cable provider for access to the NBC Sports Channel and AXS TV. It also is on Dish ch. 362 


BATTLE 4 ATLANTIS - IT’S KIND OF A LOADED TOURNAMENT
All eight teams that will take part in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament in the Bahamas on Nov. 22-24 are either ranked or receiving votes in the preseason Associated Press top 25 poll.
    Louisville, UNI’s opening round opponent, is ranked No. 2 in the country and received 20 first-place votes.
    Duke is ranked No. 8, followed by Missouri at No. 15 and Memphis at No. 17.
    VCU, Minnesota, UNI and Stanford all received votes in the preseason poll.

3-0 START FOR THE PANTHERS
UNI is off to a 3-0 start for only the second time under head coach Ben Jacobson. The Panthers also started the 2007-08 season at 3-0.
    It is only the 20th time in the history of UNI basketball that the Panthers have begun a season at 3-0. Since UNI’s move to Division I, the Panthers have begun a season 3-0 eight times (including this season).

NOVEMBER PERFECTION
UNI is a perfect 16-0 in games played in the McLeod Center in the month of November.

NON-CONF HOME-COURT SUCCESS
UNI has posted a mark of 35-7 vs. non-conference competition since the McLeod Center opened in November 2006.
    UNI posted a 6-1 mark last season in the McLeod Center during its non-conference home schedule.

TUTTLE IS OH SO ACCURATE
Sophomore Seth Tuttle is UNI’s career leader in field goal percentage at 65.0 percent through 37 career games.
    Tuttle is shooting 63.2 percent (12-of-19) this season, after blistering the nets last season at 65.2 percent (118-of-181).

KOCH DRAINS ‘EM FROM THE LINE
Junior Jake Koch currently ranks No. 7 on the Panthers’ all-time free throw percentage list. Koch has made 234-of-290 career free throws for a mark of 80.7 percent. Koch has made 12 straight free throws head into Thursday’s game vs. Louisville.
    Maurice Newby (1987-91) holds the UNI free throw percentage record at 85.6 percent (149-of-174).

UNI RECEIVES VOTES IN LATEST
ASSOCIATED PRESS POLL
The UNI men’s basketball team received  two votes in this week’s AP top 25 poll.
    UNI has been ranked in the national polls on 12 occasions with nine of those coming in the 2009-10 season.
    The UNI Panthers finished the 2009-10 season ranked No. 13 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. It marked the highest ranking ever in school history for the Panthers in the Coaches Poll.
    The Feb. 8, 2010, Associated Press poll saw UNI ranked No. 19 – the highest ranking for the Panthers ever in the AP poll.

When the UNI Panthers held the University of North Dakota to 47 points in the Panthers’ win on Nov. 17, 2012, it marked the 27th time in the Ben Jacobson head coaching era that the Panthers had held a team under 50 points. UNI is 26-1 in those contests.
