Panther Sports Radio Network

 

Panther Sports Properties produces game day radio broadcasts and special programming, syndicated on the Panther Sports Radio Network, which consists of 11 stations across Iowa.

Many of these stations also carry "Panther Sports Talk with Mark Farley," a weekly call-in show featuring Panther football coach Mark Farley.  Panther Sports Talk airs for 12 weeks during the football season on Thursday’s at 6 p.m.  In addition, Panther Sports Properties produces radio broadcasts of all Panther women's basketball, volleyball and men’s basketball games.

Panther Sports Properties also produces and syndicates a variety of live game telecasts throughout the season. The package includes roughly 12 live television games that air throughout Eastern and Central Iowa.  Check your local listings for more information.

 

 

 

MEN'S SPORTS COVERAGE

In 2014-15 News/ Talk 1540 KXEL will begin its 15th year as the flagship radio station of the University of Northern Iowa Sports Network. UNI Athletics and The Radio Group of Waterloo have a broadcast agreement that carries the Panthers on the "Blow Torch" through 2014-2015. KXEL will carry all regular and post-season Panther football and men's basketball games, the weekly Mark Farley and Ben Jacobson shows, as well as other special programming focused on UNI Athletics. Panther Sports Properties works to coordinate the Panther Sports Network, which includes 11 stations.

In 2014-15, Gary Rima (pictured right) returns, with his signature catch phrase, "Oh Baby!" for his 21st year as the radio voice of the Panther Football and his 18th year on the radio for Men's Basketball. Scott Peterson (pictured left) is back in the booth for his 24th season as football color-analyst on the UNI Sports Network. Peterson was a three-time letterman for UNI in the 1970s. Kevin Boyle, enters his 14th season as color-analyst for the Panther men's basketball broadcasts. Boyle was a former UNI assistant coach under Eldon Miller.

 

 

 

 

WOMEN'S SPORTS COVERAGE

 

 

The University of Northern Iowa and KWLO radio (1330 AM, Waterloo) began broadcasting UNI women's basketball and volleyball starting in the fall of 2005. All women's basketball games and women's volleyball matches will be aired, as well as all postseason play by both teams. Chris Kleinhans-Schulz will serve as the women's basketball and volleyball play-by-play announcer. KWLO is one of a number of stations owned by the KXEL Broadcasting Company, including KXEL (1540 AM).
