Brett Egan took top overall honors in the Saluki Invitational 8k race with a time of 25:14.70. The victory was Egan's third-consecutive after he won the Bulldog Classic on Aug. 31 and the Oz Memorial on Sept. 7.
Egan won the Bulldog Classic, beating the rest of the field, including last year's MVC champion, by over 19 seconds.
Egan followed up that performance at the Oz Memorial in Minneapolis, Minn. by cutting nearly a minute off of his time from the previous year to secure the top honors again. Egan won the Saluki Invitational by a 15 second margin.
Egan and the Panther cross country team return to action this Saturday when they head to Chicago, Ill. to compete at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, which takes place on Lake Michigan. The women's race starts at 11:45 a.m. and the men's race will follow shortly after at 12:15 p.m.
