NEW ORLEANS, La. - The University of Northern Iowa men's cross country team has earned a spot in the top-15 in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in the Midwest Region. The Panthers are currently tabbed with the No.14 seed.
"The men have impressed me more and more this year," said UNI head coach Dan Steele. "Less than 30 seconds separated our number 2-5 runners at the Bradley Classic. Coach Paulsen has done a nice job building a team atmosphere and that hard work is starting to pay off."
The Panther men are being lead by All-Conference Senior, Brett Egan.
New to the regional rankings: MEN - Dayton (Great Lakes), Northern Iowa (Midwest), Eastern Illinois (Midwest), Florida A&M (South), South Alabama (South), and North Texas (South Central).
Oklahoma State owns the top overall ranking in the region.
The Panthers return to action Oct. 27th at the MVC Championships in Normal Il., hosted by Illinois State University.
