On the women's side, UNI’s top three runners recorded UNI top-ten performances. Senior Scotti Schon's time of 21:36 placed her fourth all-time in the UNI record books for the 6k course. Allison Fick's 21:46 and Hayley Thomas's 21:54 placed them sixth and seventh respectively in the all-time ranks at UNI.
The 2012 Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championship will be held this Saturday, October 27, at the Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Ill. hosted by Illinois State University. The Illinois State women and Indiana State men were voted as the pre-championship favorites in the coaches' pre-championship poll.
The UNI men's team is expected to send seniors Brett Egan and Ryan Krogmann, juniors Calvin Kibby and Andrew Swanson, sophomore Terry Nielsen, and freshmen Zach Buchheit, Zach Wiemers, and Ben Fick. On the women's side, UNI is expected to send seniors Allison Fick, Hayley Thomas, Scotti Schon, Lindsey Wilkins, and April Davidshofer, sophomore Alex Wilson, and freshmen Callie Matthews and Hanna Martin.
The women's 5k race will start at 10:30am followed by the men's 8k race at 11:30 a.m.
