Meet the Panthers: Redshirt Freshman Stephanie Davison

On this year's UNI women's basketball team, there are four redshirt freshmen and four true freshmen helping to make up the 16-woman squad. But Redshirt Freshman Stephanie Davison isn't worried about the youth on the team this season.

"Even though we are young, I want to play at a high level and be consistent this season," Davison said. "I want to win the conference and make it to the post-season."

The Maple Grove, Minn. native redshirted last season and is eager to get on the court this year. She was named Miss Basketball for Minnesota and ranks in the Maple Grove High School top-three single-season records in points, rebounds, steals, assists and blocks.

Being from Minnesota, she is looking forward to being able to play at the University of Minnesota this season. Davison started playing basketball in kindergarten and has enjoyed it ever since.

"I love playing the game and being with such a great group of people in my teammates and coaches," Davison said.

Even though Davison didn't participate in the games last season, she has enjoyed her time at UNI so far for one reason.

"I love being part of such a great team," she said.
