For the third consecutive year the University of Northern Iowa student-athletes' graduation rate has exceeded that of the general student population at UNI.
UNI's student-athlete graduation rate for students entering school in 2005-06 was 73 percent, compared to the student body's number of 67 percent.
"Success in athletics is defined in many ways," UNI Director of Athletics Troy Dannen said. "Some very public and visible, some behind the scenes. However, no measure of success is more closely tied to the institutional mission and ultimate objective than graduation rates."
The 2012 NCAA Graduation Rates Report was prepared by the NCAA, based on data provided by the institution in compliance with NCAA Bylaw 18.4.2.2.1 (admission and graduation-rate disclosure) and the federal Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act.
