Meet the Panthers: Sophomore Brittni Donaldson
Brittni Donaldson is one of four sophomores on the team, but brings experience and leadership to a young Panther squad.
The Sioux City, Iowa native played in 30 games last season, averaging 4.4 points a game and finished the season with 20 assists. She had 12 steals and 44 rebounds and finished fourth on the team in three-point field goals made with 23.
Basketball has always come naturally to Donaldson, who started playing when she was young. Donaldson played high school ball for Sioux City North High School.
"My dad put a ball in my hands at a young age," Donaldson said. "I just fell in love with it right away."
While there are many aspects of the game of basketball to love, Donaldson's joy for the game comes from helping her teammates.
"I love the team aspect of the game," Donaldson said. "I love the feeling of giving a good pass to a teammate for an easy basket or when I get beat off the dribble and my teammate is there to help and take the charge. If we don't work together, we won't win games."
Donaldson has set several goals for herself this season, but one important goal is to be a noticeable threat to the other team. Along with the rest of the team, she has set goals for the season and is looking forward to its start.
"I'm really looking forward to our three games over Thanksgiving break and also our game against Minnesota because we want revenge," Donaldson said. "We want to beat some of the teams we play in our tough non-conference schedule and make it past the first round of the NCAA tournament."
