Kalin, a redshirt senior from Sioux City, Iowa, is currently working on defending her thesis for her masters in Kinesiology and Sport Psychology. She graduated with her undergraduate degree "Summa Cum Laude" in Sport Psychology in 2010.
She is an active member and the MVC representative for the NCAA Division I National Student Athlete Advisory Committee and is an active member of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Issues Committee. Kalin was the UNI Co-President of the SAAC from the spring of 2010 to the spring of 2012 and is a member of the UNI Intercollegiate Athletics Advisory Council.
Kalin has scored 364 points so far this season and is now in second place at UNI in career scoring with 1,783 and is only 68 points shy of being the all-time leading scorer in UNI history. She has scored 20-plus points in ten games this season, including a season high 28 points against North Carolina State.
Kalin returned this season after redshirting during the 2011-12 season due to suffering a season ending ACL injury before the season started. She was named the Jackie Stiles Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year for the 2010-11 season, first team All-MVC and MVC Scholar Athlete of the Year.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
