Brett Egan competed in the men's 5,000 meters for the first time this season tonight at the Meyo Invitational, finishing 14th overall in a competitive field. His time of 14:41.95 placed him first in the Missouri Valley Conference in the event.
On the women's side, Allison Fick also competed in the 5,000 meters for the first time this season. She finished with a time of 17:31.86, giving her the best time in the MVC. Her time of 17:31.86 also placed her third all-time at UNI in the event.
Sebastian Barth finished the 60 meter hurdle preliminaries with a time of 8.08, qualifying him for the semi-finals of the event. His preliminary time was the seventh best time out of nine heats that competed in the event. Barth came away with a seventh place finish overall in the semi-final race with a time of 8.09.
Libby Torresani continued her strong performance in the pole vault, finishing tied for ninth in a field that saw seven different Big Ten competitors. Torresani notched a height of 11-07.75.
The Panthers will return to action tomorrow for the second day of competition at the Meyo Invitational. The meet will start with the women's 3,000 meters at 10:00 a.m.
