The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team came up on the short
end of a 4-3 decision to the Augustana Vikings on Sunday at the Black
Hawk Tennis Club.
UNI (3-3 overall) scored three singles' victories on the day, but could not pull off the doubles point. Phoebe Walker (No. 1 singles), Chelsea Moore (No. 2 singles) and Krissy Lankelma (No. 3 singles) won their respective matches in straight sets to score the Panthers' three triumphs.
Walker and Lankelma tallied an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, but Moore and Lindsay Cayton dropped an 8-3 decision at No. 2 doubles. The Panthers forfeited at No. 3 doubles to give the Vikings the doubles' point.
NOTE: Walker won her 75th career doubles match and improved to 75-31 in her Panther doubles' career ... Walker and Lankelma are 13-3 at No. 1 doubles this season, including a 5-1 mark in dual matches.
