AUSTIN, Texas – Sophomore Paige Knodle completed the second day of competition at the Texas Relays Thursday afternoon, moving up 11 spots in the heptathlon, finishing in 10th place overall with 5,207 total points.
“Paige made a great run on a talented field today,” head coach Dan Steele said. “There were lessons learned in this meet that will pay big dividends down the road. I was very proud of her today.”
Knodle finished tied for third in her flight of the long jump, notching a jump of 17-10.25. In the javelin throw competition, Knodle came in second in her flight and second overall in the competition with a personal-best throw of 139-09, placing her fourth all-time at UNI.
The sophomore also placed second in her heat and second overall in the 800 meter run. The Byron, Ill. native finished with a time of 2:15.88, earning 880 points.
Knodle and the rest of the Panthers will return to action April 5-6 when they travel to the Joey Haines Invitational in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
