Cobra Resigns As Head Women's Tennis Coach At UNI

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Mariana Cobra, the head women's tennis coach at UNI for the past two seasons, has resigned from her position, effective immediately.

Jean Berger, the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator at UNI, will serve as the interim coach until that position has been filled.

Cobra led the Panthers to eight dual victories in her inaugural season as head coach in the 2012-13 year. Under the tutelage of her first-year coach, UNI senior Phoebe Walker was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year.

She earned her bachelor's degree from UNI in 2008 as well as her master's degree from UNI in 2010.
As a player at UNI, Cobra was a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete.
