• The University of Northern Iowa men’s basketball team (7-6, 1-0 MVC overall) will travel to Wichita, Kan., on Sunday to take on the nationally-ranked Wichita State Shockers (14-0, 1-0 MVC). Tip is set for 1 p.m. at Koch Arena.

• John Rooney (play-by-play) and Rich Zvosec (analyst) will call the contest on MVC-TV.

• The telecast will be cleared live on FOX Sports Midwest, FOX Sports Indiana and FOX Sports Kansas City (combined 5.9 million homes), FOX College Sports Atlantic (56 million digital homes), Comcast SportsNet Chicago (4.9 million homes), ESPN3 (outside the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri), DirecTV (Channel 671), Dish Network (Channel 418) and AT&T U-Verse (Channel 748).

• UNI is 2-0 all-time when playing a ranked Wichita State team.

• The Panthers are averaging 72.3 points per game - the highest per game average since the 1995-96 season (77.2 ppg).

• UNI has posted an MVC-best non-conference strength of schedule ranking of No. 36 in the nation heading Missouri Valley Conference play, according to The RPI Report.

RADIO INFORMATION:this year’s UNI men’s basketball games can be heard on the UNI Sports Radio Network, with KXEL (1540 AM, Waterloo, Iowa) serving as flagship station. Affiliates include KGYM (1600 AM, Cedar Rapids), KCHA (95.9 FM and 1580 AM, Charles City), KXNO (1460 AM, Des Moines), KFXE (1160 AM, Decorah-Waukon), KVFD (1400 AM, Fort Dodge), KQCR (98.9 FM, Hampton) and KILJ (105.5 FM, Mount Pleasant).
    Long-time Panthers announcer Gary Rima handles play-by-play duties, while Kevin Boyle serves as analyst.  Head coach Ben Jacobson’s weekly radio call-in show will air on Thursdays, beginning in December at 6 p.m., live from The Other Place in Cedar Falls.

UNI VS. RANKED OPPONENTS
UNI will face its second ranked foe of the season Sunday when the Panthers match up against the No. 7 (Coaches) and No. 8 (AP) Wichita State Shockers.
    UNI is 2-0 all-time when playing a ranked Wichita State squad. Last season, UNI topped the 15th-ranked Shockers in the McLeod Center, 57-52 (2/2/13).
    UNI also knocked off the No. 16 Shockers in Koch Arena, 63-59 (12/30/06).
    In UNI’s previous matchup this season against the ranked foe, the Panthers took No. 17 Iowa State to overtime before falling to the Cyclones at the Big 4 Classic in Des Moines, 91-82 (12/7).
    UNI is 10-18 vs. ranked opponents since head coach Ben Jacobson joined the UNI coaching staff in 2001-02.
    Since the 1979-80 season, UNI has compiled a mark of 13-28 record vs. ranked opponents.

UNI holds a 25-22 lead in the all-time series vs. Wichita State.
    The Panthers have posted eight victories all-time at Wichita State, including a mark of 5-4 over the past nine seasons in Koch Arena.

LARGEST MVC MARGIN OF VICTORY
UNI recorded its largest margin of victory in a Missouri Valley Conference game on Wednesday in its 34-point win over Bradley, 80-46.
    The previous largest victory margin came last season in UNI’s 31-point win over Bradley, 84-53 (Jan. 12, 2013).

MONSTER EFFORT FROM TUTTLE
UNI junior forward Seth Tuttle put on a monster effort Wednesday in the Panthers’ MVC opener vs. Bradley.
    Tuttle tallied a career-high tying 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds in only 23 minutes of action. Tuttle drained 9-of-12 shots from the field. All nine of his rebounds came in the first half vs. the Braves.
    Tuttle leads the MVC in rebounding (7.8 rpg). He leads the Panthers in scoring  (13.5 ppg).

TUTTLE’S LAST THREE GAMES
Over his last three games, Tuttle is averaging 16.3 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists. Tuttle has also drained 14-of-16 free throws over the three contests.

UNI’S 3-POINT STREAK
UNI has made at least one 3-pointer in 442 straight games – the longest active streak in the Missouri Valley Conference.
    The last time UNI failed to make a 3-point basket came Feb. 3, 2000, vs. Southern Illinois in a 72-58 Panther victory in the UNI-Dome. UNI went 0-for-4 from 3-point land vs. the Salukis back in 2000.

MVC OPENERS UNDER COACH JAKE
The Panthers are now 4-4 in MVC openers under head coach Ben Jacobson after UNI’s 80-46 win over Bradley (1/1).
    UNI is 3-0 under coach Jake when taking on Bradley in its MVC opener. UNI also notched wins over the Braves to begin the 2006-07 and 2007-08 MVC seasons.

SENIOR LEADER
UNI forward Chip Rank is enjoying a great start to his senior season.
    Rank has started each of the last 10 games for the Panthers and leads the team in 3-pointers made (21). Rank is fourth on the team in scoring at 7.9 ppg. Rank has scored in double figures six times this season.

RANK LOOKS TO JOIN TOP OF GAMES PLAYED LIST
Senior forward Chip Rank has played in 116 games for the Panthers and has drawn eight starting assignments.
    If Rank stays healthy and plays in each of the Panthers’s game this season, he will finish among the top five in games played.

STARTING LINEUP CHANGES
UNI head coach Ben Jacobson has sued three difference starting lineups this season.
    Freshman Jeremy Morgan made his first collegiate start at Milwaukee, while sophomore Wes Washpun came off the bench for the first time this season.
    Senior Chip Rank was inserted into the starting lineup for the Paradise Jam after coming off the bench in the first three games this season.

When UNI held the Bradley Braves to 46 points in the Panthers’s win on Jan. 1, 2014, it marked the 30th time in the Ben Jacobson head coaching era that the Panthers had held a team under 50 points. UNI is 29-1 in those contests.
    UNI has won 22 straight games when holding the opposition to less than 50 points.

FEASTING ON THE LAND OF LINCOLN
UNI head coach Ben Jacobson has taken full advantage of the four schools representing the state of Illinois in the Missouri Valley Conference in his eight seasons as the Panthers’ coach.
    Coach Jake has an overall mark of 39-15 vs. Southern Illinois, Illinois State, Bradley and Loyola. Jake’s 15 wins over Bradley are the most vs. any Valley opponent he has faced.
    Coach Jake is 23-1 all-time in the McLeod Center against Southern Illinois (7-0), Illinois State (7-0), Bradley (8-1) and Loyola (1-1).

500 BOARDS, 500 POINTS FOR TUTTLE
Junior forward Seth Tuttle recorded his 500th career rebound in UNI’s game at Virginia (12/21).
    Tuttle became the 24th UNI men’s basketball player to record at least 500 points and 500 rebounds in his career.
    Tuttle has tallied 911 points and 531 rebounds in his Panther career.

PANTHERS SIGN WYATT LOHAUS IN EARLY SIGNING PERIOD
University of Northern Iowa head men’s basketball coach Ben Jacobson announced the signing of Wyatt Lohaus (North Liberty, Iowa/Iowa City West HS) to a National Letter-of-Intent to play for the Panthers.
    “Our program is thrilled to add Wyatt,” Jacobson said. “He has proven himself to be a tremendous leader and teammate. Wyatt’s work ethic and competitiveness are terrific and have allowed him to improve his game every year. He comes from a quality high school program that has had great success. All of these things make Wyatt a perfect fit.”
    Lohaus (6’2”, 185 lbs., Guard) has helped lead Iowa City West High School to two consecutive Class 4A state championships and back-to-back undefeated seasons (52-0). Lohaus earned a spot on the 2013 state tournament all-tournament squad. Lohaus was a first-team all-state pick as a junior and was a second-team all-state pick as a sophomore. Lohaus is a two-time first-team all-conference honoree.
    Lohaus has scored 763 career points heading into his senior season. He scored 103 points as a freshman, 305 points as a sophomore and 355 points as a junior. He shot 51.8 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from the 3-point arc as a junior. Lohaus averaged 13.7 points, 5.0 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game last season.
    He is the son of Anne Lohaus and Brad Lohaus.
