WATERLOO, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team scored a 5-2 win over the University of North Dakota at the Black Hawk Tennis Club on Friday afternoon.
UNI improved to 2-4 on the year, while North Dakota fell to 0-4.
The Panthers used the momentum of sweeping the doubles play to earn the 5-2 home victory head coach Daniel Finn said.
"We came out hot in doubles," Finn said. "We keep getting better and better at doubles. We have put such a big emphasis on it in practice and it is showing in our play on the court. The energy it allows you to carry into the singles play is huge. We're still not even close to where we went to be with this program but we are improving each and every day. The good thing is that the hard work in practice showed up in the results tonight with a win."
UNI will be back in action on Sunday at 1 p.m. UNI will play host to Western Illinois in the Black Hawk Tennis Club.
