Earlier this week, members of the University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team spent some time volunteering at UNI's Adapted Sports Camp. The camp was designed to allow campers who use wheelchairs to participate in various sporting events, including basketball.
Panther student-athletes spent the afternoon interacting with the campers, teaching basketball drills, demonstrating skills and participating in several games of wheelchair basketball.
"I think all of our kids would tell you that this was a very rewarding experience," said UNI head coach Tanya Warren. "It was a blessing to have our student-athletes be associated with such a tremendous event."
