The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team visited the
Richland Group in Waterloo as a part of its community service and giving back to
the Cedar Valley.
The Richland Group Home is one of 13 homes in the
Cedar Valley run by Comprehensive Systems from Charles City. The
Richland Group Home is inhabited by seven individuals - six males and
one female. All seven housemates are wheelchair bound and have
stomach feeding tubes for liquid meals.
The student-athletes were introduced to the housemates and were shown their living quarters. The team also took them on a walk around the block during the visit.
