Atterbury and Bermel Receive Honorable Mention

The Missouri Valley Conference has released the golf scholar-athlete team and while UNI was not represented on that team the Panthers held two of the honorable mention spots. Junior Brittany Atterbury, who is majoring in communications with a 3.31 cumulative GPA, was an honorable mention. Abby Bermel, junior, was also an honorable mention with a 3.33 cumulative GPA majoring in elementary education.

Through the season Atterbury made 11 starts and played 29 rounds. She finished the season with a stroke average of 78.79, scored 18 rounds in the 70’s and shot her season best round of 72 in the second round of the Illinois State Invitational.

Bermel made 8 starts and played 23 rounds this season. She finished with a stroke average of 75.35 and scored 1 round in the 70’s, 17 rounds in the 80’s and shot her season best round of 79 in the first round of the Illinois State Invitational.
