CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa swimming and diving team came up short to both Kansas and North Dakota. The Panthers fell to Kansas, 186 - 105 and to North Dakota, 185 - 114. Bethany Olson finished the meet with a first place finish in the 3-meter dive.
Olson finished the 3-meter dive with 246.40 points. She also took fifth in the 1-meter dive with 224.75 points.
Chelsea Hartman finished in third in the 1,000 freestyle. She clocked in with a time of 10:29.66. With a time of 5:11.67, Hartman also took third in the 500 freestyle. Teammate Reva Bork finished the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:27.70.
In the 100 breaststroke, Caryn Knight took the runner-up spot. Knight finished with a time of 1:08.91. Teammates Stephanie Paape(1:10.40) and Sarah Hedeen(1:10.54) followed taking fourth and fifth, respectively. Knight also took fifth in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.48) and sixth in the 200 IM (2:17.19).
Jaime Pearson led the Panthers in the 100 backstroke. She took fourth with a time of 1:00.86.
The 400 medley relay took third place. The quartet of Natalie Johnson, Caryn Knight, Jaime Pearson and MacKenzie Smith finished in 4:05.12.
The Panthers will return to action next Sat., Nov. 29 against Nebraska - Omaha. The meet will begin at 1 p.m. It will take place in the Glen F. Henry Swimming and Diving Pool.
