The University of Northern Iowa track & field team placed 15 student-athletes on the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team, the league announced Thursday. Nine women and six men from UNI earned the honor for their academic and athletic achievements during the 2012 season.
MVC Scholar-Athlete honors are awarded to student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, are at least sophomores in athletic and academic standing, and who placed in the top eight at either the indoor or outdoor MVC Track & Field Championships.
