The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team (14-7) will wrap up the regular season at home this weekend. The Panthers will take on Creighton University on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Black Hawk Tennis Club. Sunday's match will be against Wichita State at 10 a.m. also at the Black Hawk Tennis Club.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Creighton University will be playing its 21st and final match of the spring 2011 season. The Bluejays are 11-8 on the spring season. They are 1-3 in Missouri Valley Conference play. CU defeated Bradley, but suffered losses to Evansville, Illinois State and Southern Illinois. UNI defeated Creighton 4-3 last year.
This will be the 23rd and final match of the spring 2011 season for Wichita State University. The Shockers are 12-9 in the spring season, and 4-0 in the MVC. WSU defeated Bradley, Evansville, Illinois State and Southern Illinois. The Panthers lost to Wichita State last year, falling 6-1 to the Shockers.
PANTHERS STILL PERFECT IN MVC
The Panther women added a couple W's to their perfect MVC record this weekend. They swept Southern Illinois 7-0 on Saturday at home. They then turned around on Sunday and defeated Evansville 6-1.
TOPS IN WINNING PERCENTAGE
Kunzelmann currently owns the highest career winning percentage of any UNI Panther in this history of the program. Kunzelmann has won 73.7 percent of her matches to top the previous career leader Robin Ross (1982-84), who posted a 25-9 (.735) mark. Kunzelmann is 70-25 all-time for the Panthers.
KUNZELMANN MOVING UP THE LISTS
Junior Carolina Hannes (2004-08) holds the UNI career record for singles' wins with 86.Kunzelmann's 25 wins this season in singles' play ranks as the 10th-best mark in school history. Her next win would move her into a three-way tie for 7th on the list with Carolina Hannes (2004-05) and Tami Williams (1984-85) with 26 wins.

Senior Carolina Hannes (2004-08) with 68 victories. For her career, Gonzalez-Garrido is 67-31 in doubles action.
PANTHERS NOW 3-0 IN MVC PLAY
UNI improved to 3-0 in the MVC after two victories this weekend. The Panthers defeated Bradley University 6-1 on Saturday in Peoria, Illinois. They then went on to to defeat Illinois State 5-2 in Normal, Ilinois on Sunday.
GONZALEZ NAMED ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Senior Laia Gonzalaz-Garrido was named Missouri Valley Conference women's tennis Athlete of the Week, following her winning performance against Drake on Sunday. She defeated Gabriela Demos of Drake 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles match. In doubles, Laia and teammate Phoebe Walker defeated Jessica Aguilera and Manca Krizman 8-5 in the No. 1 match.
PANTHERS TAKE DOWN THE BULLDOGS
The Panthers defeated Drake 5-2 on Sunday at home. This was the first MVC match for both teams this spring season. Laia Gonzalez-Garrido, Jessica Kunzelmann and Chelsea Moore all earned singles and doubles wins against the Bulldogs.
