Waterloo, Ia.- The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team got the win today over the Fighting Sioux of North Dakota. UNI defeated UND 6-1 at home.

The girls started out strong in doubles. The team of Krissy Lankelma and Chelsea Moore defeated Stephanie Petsis and Stephanie Biehn of North Dakota 8-4 in the No. 1 match. Jessica Kunzelmann and Nina Pfahler won their No. 2 match, defeating Megan Sween and Sarah Stejskal 8-3. In the No. 3 match, Cassandra Dix and Stefannia Sampaio breezed past Lindsey Viegut and Hailey Whitman of UND 8-0.

In singles play, North Dakota's Stephanie Petsis defeated Nina Pfahler in very close battle 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5). Cassandra Dix breezed past Stephanie Biehn of UND 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 2 match. Jessica Kunzelmann won her No. 3 match, defeating Megan Sween 6-1, 6-3, continuing to make her climb to the top of the all-time wins list. In the No. 4 match, Chelsea Moore defeated Sarah Stejskal of North Dakota 6-3, 7-5. Krissy Lankelma blew past Mindy Lawrence 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 5 match. Stefannia Sampaio won her No. 6 match, defeating Hailey Whitman of UND 6-0, 6-2.

The Panther women will be traveling to Lincoln, Nebraska, to take on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on February 11^th.
