Senior Brett Egan took second overall in the men's 8k race with a time of 24:33, finishing just one second behind Wisconsin's Matt McClintock. Freshman Zach Buchheit finished second for the Panthers with a time of 26:03 and sophomore Terry Nielsen wasn't far behind with a mark of 26:08.
Senior Ryan Krogman and junior Andrew Swanson rounded out the top-five for the Panthers with times of 26:26 and 26:32 respectively.
On the women's side senior Allison Fick took home 19th overall with a time of 18:07 on the 5k course. Senior Hayley Thomas finished second for UNI with a time of 18:29.
Seniors Schon Scotti and Lindsey Wilkins finished three and four for the Panthers respectively with times of 19:01 and 19:32. Sophomore Alex Wilson rounded out the top-five for UNI with a time of 19:45.
"I'm very pleased with the improvements we have made over the past few weeks. Having 10 athletes running personal bests at one meet is terrific" said UNI head coach Dave Paulsen. "Both teams executed the race plan well. We look forward to our next competition at Peoria in two weeks."
UNI will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 12 when they travel to Peoria, Ill., to compete in the Bradley Classic.
