THIS WEEK IN PANTHER TENNIS

The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team will host Western Illinois on Saturday at 10:00 a.m at the Black Hawk Tennis Club. They will then travel to Des Moines to take on Chicago St. at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday and then face UMKC Sunday at 2:00 p.m. These matches will be held at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center at Drake University.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
- This will be the fourth match of the season for Western Illinois. The Leathernecks are 0-3 on the spring season. Last season the Panthers defeated Western Illinois 7-0.
- Chicago State will be playing in it's ninth match of the spring season. The Cougars are 1-5 on the spring season. They will be playing UMKC and Drake before they face the Panthers on Sunday. Chicago States' one win came against fellow MVC team Bradley. The last time this two teams faced each other was in the 2007-08 season, and the Panthers came up with the 4-3 win.
- This will be the seventh match of the spring season for the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The Kangaroos have a 1-3 record on the spring season. UMKC will face Drake and Chicago State before they take on UNI on Sunday. Their lone win of the season came against Creighton, a fellow MVC team. Last season, the Panthers defeated UMKC 7-0.
TOUGH WEEKEND FOR PANTHERS
- The Panthers suffered two loses on the road last weekend. They fell to the No. 29 University of Nebraska Huskers, 7-0. They also lost to the Air Force Academy Eagles 6-1. Freshman Nina Pfahler was the lone singles winner for the Panthers against Air Force. She defeated the Eagles' Melissa Cecil in the No. 1 match. Pfahler and teammate Jessica Kunzelmann had the only doubles win for the Panthers against Air Force.
