Panther Fan Fest Set For April 26
The University of Northern Iowa Panthers spring football game and Panther Fan Fest will be held on Sat., April 26. UNI's annual spring game will take place April 26 at 1:15 p.m. in the UNI-Dome as a part of the Panther Fan Fest. The day will start with the free Kick-off Kids football clinic at 9 a.m. in UNI-Dome for youth in grades second through seventh. Beginning at 11:30 a.m. the UNI-Dome parking lots will be open for tailgating and the annual Panther Fan Fest will be held indoors at the McLeod Center. There will be inflatable games for the kids, autograph sessions with Panther student-athletes, pictures with T.C., Panther tattoos with the UNI Cheer and Dance Teams, the Iowa Beef Producers will be serving ribeye sandwiches. Kickoff for the spring football game will be at 1:15 p.m., with former Panther football players serving as honorary coaches. Prior to the game and an exhibition match involving the nationally ranked UNI women's rugby team will take place in the UNI-Dome beginning at 11:30 a.m. Panther fans may also purchase season tickets for the 2008 UNI football season during Fan Fest on April 26. The Panther Scholarship Club and the Panther Kids Club will be accepting new and renewal memberships for the upcoming season.

UNI athletic officials anticipate demand for 2008 season tickets to escalate dramatically after the Panther's record-setting 2007 season, which included three consecutive UNI-Dome sell-out games.. The University of Northern Iowa football team completed the first-ever undefeated regular season (11-0) in the Gateway Conference. It was the school's first perfect regular season since 1960, when UNI went 9-0. UNI was also ranked No. 1 in the nation for six weeks during the regular season. UNI finished the season 12-1 overall and ranked No. 4 in the nation after reaching the quarterfinals of the FCS (Football Championship Subdivision) playoffs.
