St. Louis, Mo. -

Three University of Northern Iowa student-athletes highlight the total of 132 Panthers who were honored by being named to the 2007-08 Missouri Valley Conference Honor Roll, the league office announced today.

Those three Panther student-athletes - Jenna O'Hara (women's soccer), Amy Seubert (women's soccer) and Stacy Butt (women's track and field) - received the Valley's highest academic achievement by being named recipients of the President's Council Academic Excellence Award.  To achieve that honor requires a minimum 3.8 cumulative grade point average, participation in athletics for at least two years, and the student-athlete being within 18 hours of graduation.

Thirty-seven UNI student-athletes received the Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, which requires a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for the previous two semesters, a minimum 3.2 GPA for the fall 2007 semester, and at least sophomore status.

A total of 132 Panther student-athletes were named to the MVC Honor Roll.  To earn that honor, a student-athlete must have a 3.2 grade point average for fall 2007.
