Cedar Falls, Iowa - Steve Schofield has been hired as assistant athletics director for compliance at the University of Northern Iowa, UNI director of athletics Rick Hartzell announced today. He will begin his duties on August 7.

Since January of 2006, Schofield has served as assistant athletics director for compliance at Florida State University. At FSU, his duties including coordinating financial aid, rules interpretations, NCAA and Atlantic Coast Conference waivers, rules education and investigating and reporting secondary violations.

Schofield has a wide and varied background, as he has also served in the athletic department compliance offices at Maryland and Minnesota. A native of Odebolt, Iowa, Schofield received his bachelor's degree in general studies from UNI in 2000, and a master's degree in higher and postsecondary education from Arizona State in 2003.
