The University of Northern Iowa department of athletics has added 95.5 KQMG-FM in Independence to the UNI Sports Network for the upcoming season.

KQMG will air UNI football games, UNI men's basketball games and the UNI Coaches Show this year.

News/ Talk 1540 KXEL is in its sixth year as the flagship radio station of the University of Northern Iowa Sports Network. Recently UNI Athletics and The Radio Group of Waterloo agreed to a five-year extension of the broadcast agreement that now carries through 2009-2010. KXEL will carry all regular and post-season Panther football and men's basketball games, the weekly Mark Farley and Ben Jacobson shows, as well as other special programming focused on UNI Athletics. KXEL also works with Panther Sports Marketing to coordinate the UNI Sports Network, which includes over six stations, with the satellite resources of Clear Channel Broadcasting, Inc. Last year UNI Athletics and Clear Channel entered into a three-year agreement to have Panther events distributed to network affiliates via satellite.
