The University of Northern Iowa department of athletics has announced six new affiliates have come aboard the UNI Sports Network for the 2008-09 season.

New UNI Sports Network affiliates have been added in Charles City, Mason City, Mount Pleasant, Fort Dodge, Hampton and Des Moines markets.

"It is a great sign for UNI athletics to be able to grow the UNI Sports Network and add six affiliates throughout the state of Iowa," UNI Director of Athletics Troy Dannen said. "It gives us the opportunity to reach many more Panther alumni and fans so they can take in the excitement of UNI athletics."

The new stations include: KCHA AM/FM (1580-AM, 95.9 FM) in Charles City, KRIB AM (1490-AM) in Mason City, KILJ AM/FM (1130-AM, 105.5 FM) in Mount Pleasant, KVFD AM (1400-AM) in Fort Dodge, KQCR FM (98.9 FM) in Hampton and KXNO AM (1460-AM) in Des Moines.

KXEL AM in Waterloo will continue to serve as the flagship for the UNI Sports Network and can be accessed at 1540-AM. KQWC AM (1570-AM) in Webster City and KQMG FM (95.3 FM) in Independence will also serve as affiliates on the UNI Sports Network.

The UNI Sports Network carries UNI football games, UNI men's basketball games and coaches shows for both sports.

NOTE: KXNO will broadcast football games only and will not broadcast men's basketball games or coaches shows.
