Cedar Falls, Iowa - Officials with the University of Northern Iowa athletic department today announced a partnership with Mediacom Communications that will result in a statewide, live telecast of the Panther football Homecoming game in October and replay telecasts for three women's volleyball matches.

Mediacom will deliver exclusive coverage, statewide, of UNI's October 7th football game with Gateway Conference rival Missouri State University. Kick-off for the Homecoming match-up is scheduled for 4:05 pm, an open time slot free of other major college games and a factor that is sure to boost viewer interest as Iowans follow the team that reached the 2005 Division I-AA national championship.

"We are thrilled to be able to partner with Mediacom to shine yet another spotlight on our outstanding student-athletes," said Rick Hartzell, UNI's Director of Athletics. "Mediacom's statewide coverage will further enhance the visibility of UNI student athletes and coaches. We want alumni and sports fans throughout the state to know that we'll be working with Mediacom to deliver additional coverage of sports competition in our winter schedule."

The Homecoming football game will be televised on the Mediacom Connections Channel. In addition to live football coverage, Mediacom will produce three UNI volleyball games for tape-delay broadcasts statewide. Those high-profile games include a two-game tournament on September 9 in which UNI will face Alabama and Notre Dame. Volleyball action on October 14 will feature competition between UNI and Illinois State.

"Coverage of UNI athletic competition is ideally suited to our Mediacom Connections Channel," said Ed Pardini, Mediacom's senior vice president. "There's real value and interest in giving Iowans a view of these student athletes. Many began as high school players and the hometown fans will enjoy seeing them in collegiate competition. Mediacom is proud to offer this programming that isn't available anywhere else."

Mediacom Connections is located at channel 22 in most areas of the state (channel 74 in Iowa City - check local TV listings for channel line-ups). View program schedules at: www.connections22.com.
