Steve Schofield Position: Assistant Athletics Director/Compliance

Steve Schofield joined the UNI athletics staff in August of 2006. He is responsible for implementing and maintaining a comprehensive compliance program for UNI's student-athletes, coaches, staff, and other university constituents. He is UNI's liaison to the NCAA and Missouri Valley Conference on all compliance-related matters including recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, rules interpretations, waivers and violations. He also assists with UNI's student life initiatives.

Prior to UNI, Schofield served as assistant athletics director for compliance at Florida State University. At FSU, his duties included coordinating financial aid, rules interpretations, NCAA and Atlantic Coast Conference waivers, rules education and investigating and reporting secondary violations.

Schofield has a wide and varied background, as he has also served in the athletic department compliance offices at Maryland and Minnesota. A native of Odebolt, Iowa, Schofield received his bachelor's degree in general studies from UNI in 2000, and a master's degree in higher and postsecondary education from Arizona State in 2003.
