UNI Wrestling Signs National Champ to 2016-17 Roster

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI wrestling added a national champion to its roster next year.
Tyler Hoffman of Iowa Central Community College signed of National Letter of Intent today.
As a freshman at Iowa Central Community College, he helped ICCC win a NJCAA national title in 2015. He won his own individual title at 184 pounds with a fall in 5 minutes, 33 seconds. Hoffman is a sophomore from Winthrop, Iowa.
As a prep athlete for East Buchanan, he finished out his senior year undefeated. He notched two falls and two decisions to win the Class 1A 195-pound weight class. He was fourth as a junior at the same weight class.
Hoffman is the son of Tim and Jolene. He has an older sibling and one younger sibling. He also competed in prep football and baseball.
