WBB's 9th Annual Golf Gig

The UNI women's basketball team hosted its ninth annual Golf Gig on Aug. 12, with 108 golfers participating in the event. Twenty-seven teams in all participated in this year's outing, with each group featuring a UNI player or coach.
The team of Keith Sandvold, John Martin, Brandon Nelson, Jacob Nelson and UNI sophomore Megan Maahs carded a 56 to run away with the championship. The team of Todd Hermansen, Matt McManus, Joey Lester, Josh Ostrem and UNI sophomore Abby Gerrits shot 61 to finish second.
Following 18 holes of golf at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course, dinner and a program were held to recognize the winning golfers. The program featured UNI's director of athletics David Harris and junior captain Ellie Howell.
"It is safe to say that this was by far the best day of weather we have ever had for our Golf Gig and it led to as good of a day as we could possibly asked for." UNI head coach Tanya Warren said. "Our supporters and sponsors mean so much to us and impact our program in so many positive ways. We can't thank everyone enough for what they do for us."
