Equity In Athletics Report

 

All coeducational institutions of higher education that participate in any Federal student financial aid program (Federal Pell, Federal SEOG, and Federal SSIG Grants; Federal Work Study; and Federal Family Education, Federal Perkins, and William D. Ford Federal Direct Loans) and have intercollegiate athletics programs must provide information concerning their intercollegiate athletics programs under the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act of 1994, Section 360B of Public Law 103-382.

Supplemental Information

The mission of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Northern Iowa is to provide a quality athletic experience and competition opportunities for our men and women student-athletes. Further, we strive to use athletics as a way to enhance the mission and image of UNI. The participation opportunities which we offer and the sports teams which we sponsor are congruent with the championship opportunities that are offered by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
The current Director of Athletics (since 1999) and his management team have an uncompromising commitment to enhance the status of equity, to hire women coaches and female staff members and to give women student-athletes every competitive opportunity possible within an athletic program that has a legacy of success in Division I wrestling and a national caliber I-AA football program.
Due to the significant changes being made in reporting data and deadlines, year-to-year comparisions for FY2004 are not included.
