UNI Scholarship Club

UNI Scholarship Club

The University of Northern Iowa offers a comprehensive intercollegiate athletic program which includes 17 men's and women's sports. Each year approximately 400 student-athletes from across the country have an opportunity to compete for the Panthers on a regional and national level. At UNI, an important part of the intercollegiate athletic experience is the participants' opportunity to cherish success both in the classroom and on the playing field. In 1963 the Athletic Club was formed to ensure these objectives were met annually. During the past 46 years, the organization has seen a tremendous growth, a growth that strives to provide for Panther student-athletes. That inaugural year, 100 people contributed a total of $6,000. Today, the Panther Scholarship Club generates more than $1 million in cash and $500,000 in gifts-in-kind each year from supporters across the country. Although the name has changed, the mission remains the same. The Panther Scholarship Club's purpose is to raise money in order to assist the athletic department in providing scholarship support for student-athletes. Each year, universities across the country rely heavily on private contributions from people like you to help keep pace with the escalating costs of higher education. Not only does your investment assist with scholarship funding, but it enables UNI to give each student-athlete and sport program support in ways that will encourage academic and athletic success. The end result is the development of successful young men and women as ambassadors of the University of Northern Iowa.
