General Policy Statement
It is the policy of the University of Northern Iowa to regulate and control all the University's identifying marks. Included are the University name and its official seal, the various logos and indicia, and its various trademarks and service marks.

Purpose of Collegiate Trademark Licensing
The University of Northern Iowa created the trademark licensing program to protect the University name and its identifying marks and to control their use by requiring all commercial uses to be licensed.

The University of Northern Iowa's Trademark Licensing Program protects the University's long-standing

reputation by ensuring that all products bearing the University name and or its marks are in good taste and are positive reflections of the University. The licensee continues to bear sole responsibility for the quality of the product.

Current Guidelines and Logos for Artwork

Coloring & Fonts

• All of these marks can be printed using different colors

  • However, here are UNI's PMS colors

  • Purple: PMS 2617

  • Gold: PMS 124

   

• A manufacturer cannot use only black and gold or red and gold.

  • These colors represent the University of Iowa or Iowa State University.

   

• The official font of the University of Northern Iowa

  • Berthold Imago extra bold

Official Marks

• The usage of `Northern Iowa' is now acceptable, but only when accompanied by the current UNI logo on the item or garment.

Panther Athletic Logo

• The new Panther mascot logo (UNI Panther head) can not be used alone.

  • The Panther head can appear without the wording above

    • However somewhere on the article/ garment must include:

      'University of Northern Iowa' or 'UNI'
