ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Northern Iowa's mascot, T.C., earned a fifth-place finish in the Open Division Friday at the Universal Cheer Association/Universal Dance Association (UCA/UDA) National Championships.

In his fifth appearance in the national championships, T.C. improved upon his seventh-place finish from a year ago. YouDee of the University of Delaware claimed the 2008 Open Division Mascot championship.

T.C. (The Cat) entered this year's event having qualified in fifth in the Open Division. Full results, photos and video of the championships weekend, including the mascot competition, are available at www.varsity.com.
