Although it is unknown when the UNI Cheerleaders first formed a squad, please find below a list of significant events in team history.
2008-2009
Spirit Squad Advisor - Leon Costello
Cheer Council: Olivia Beames, Alex Edelman, Julie Kleinwort, Kelly Ryan and Owen Siebring
- 1st Place, Tradional Fight Song at UCA College Camp (Co-ed)
- 1st Place, Cheer at UCA College Camp (Co-ed)
- 2nd Place, Sideline at UCA College Camp (Co-ed)
- 3rd Place, Traditional Fight Song at UCA College Camp (All-Girl)
- 5th Place, Cheer at UCA College Camp (All-Girl)
- Spirit Award at UCA College Camp (All-Girl)
2007-2008
Spirit Squad Advisor - Nate Clayberg
Cheer Council: Jill McDermott - Squad Leader, Julie Kleinwort, Mikka McRoberts, Elizabeth Schuetz and Owen Siebring
- Most Collegiate Award at UCA College Camp (Co-ed)
- 2nd place in cheer competition at UCA College Camp (Co-ed)
- 3rd place in sideline competition at UCA College Camp (Co-ed)
- 5th place in sideline competition at UCA College Camp (All-female)
- Cheerleading mats donated by the University of Northern Iowa administration, and the UNI Alumni Association.
