Panthers Fare Well at Lamb-Kohawk InvitationalOct. 11, 2008
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa women’s cross country team took first place at the Lamb-Kohawk Invitational hosted by Coe College Saturday afternoon. The Panther women recorded a perfect score, taking first through fifth place. The Panther men finished second overall. Caedryn Schrunk was the top finisher for the women finishing in a season-best 21:54 in the 6k race. Freshman Carly Olsen followed closely behind, clocking in at 22:05. Danielle Nowasell finished third for the Panthers, finishing in a personal-best time of 22:18 for third place overall. Andrea Wacker was next to cross the finish line for UNI and in fourth place overall, recording a time of 23:05. Jill Lageschulte finished fifth, clocking in a time of 23:18, also a season-best time. Jessa Schweitzer finished seventh for the Panthers with a time of 23:48. On the men’s side, Mike Clancy was the first to finish for the Panthers, taking third place overall in a season-best time of 26:39 in the men’s 8k race. Mike Cooper finished in 10th place, clocking in at 27:32. Mike Stout finished closely behind in a time of 27:41 for 11th place. Jason Mitchell and Alex Mark came in 17th and 18th place respectively, both finishing in a time of 27:57. The Panthers return to action Oct. 17 at the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind.
