Vandenabeele Takes 17th at Midwest Regional ChampionshipsNov. 14, 2009
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Thibault Vandenabeele led the way for the Panthers Saturday at the NCAA Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships taking 17th place in the men’s 10k race with a time of 31:16.4.
Vandenabeele’s time puts him eighth on the Panthers all-time best list at 10,000 meters.
Brett Egan finished 129th for the Panthers followed by Alex Mark in 151st.
On the women’s side Danielle Nowasell finished 83rd with a time of 22:58.9. Carly Olsen followed just behind Nowasell finishing in 88th place while Leah Blanchard took 128th place.
Vandenabeele will find out by 7 p.m. Sunday evening if he will be selected to participate in the 2009 NCAA Cross Country National Championships.
