CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -

            Former Panthers Tim Flattery and Taylor Sinclair have signed to play with the Rockford RiverHawks of the Frontier League.

            Sinclair finished his career at UNI with 18 wins, the second-most in UNI history. Flattery ended 2008 with a 4-0 record and a team-low 3.00 ERA.

            Sinclair and Flattery join five other Panthers who are playing professional baseball. Adam Boeve is playing for the Indianapolis Indians, the Triple-A affiliate for Pittsburgh, and Nic Ungs is playing for the Huntsville Stars, the Double-A affiliate for Milwaukee.

            Guido Fonseca and Brandon Douglas each signed professional contracts after being selected in the 2008 MLB draft, and they are both playing in the Class A Short-Season New York-Penn League.  Fonseca is playing with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in Niles, Ohio, and Douglas is with the Oneonta (N.Y.) Tigers.

            Aaron Jenkins is playing for the Grand Prarie Airhogs of the American Association independent league.
