Recap |  Final Stats |  Photo Gallery

UNI Head Coach Ben Jacobson
"That was just another hard-nosed game. I don't know how else to describe it. Both teams were good defensively, but we were fortunate in the second half to get some offensive plays. Our guys got a little more aggressive in the last 15 minutes."

on Southern Illinois
"They're going to finish at the top of our league and we knew that we were getting that today."

on bench play
"It might have been the difference in the game. They just made some plays. (Adam) Viet made a couple of big threes and (Adam) Koch made some plays."

on national rankings
"We just don't pay a lot of attention to that.  It's too early in the year to move beyond anything besides getting better every day in practice.

on the Missouri Valley Conference schedule
"You have to protect your home court and our guys know that.  Our league is too good to drop a couple of at home and expect to go get a couple on the road."

SIU Head Coach Chris Lowery
"(UNI's) bench, obviously, really decided the game. We let their guys come in and make plays that were the difference in the game."

on the Missouri Valley Conference
"That's why this league is good and why it has grown -- we have good coaches and good players."

UNI forward Adam Koch
"Over the course of the year I've gotten more comfortable."

on UNI's deep bench
"It's a nice advantage to have.  To give (the starters) a break and not have a drop-off is important for us."

UNI guard Jared Josten
"I've had a big opportunity this year and I've just tried to come in and work hard.  Coach Jake always says that we need to be aggressive."

"It's been our goal since day one to play hard and try to win the Valley."
