Recap |  Final Stats

UNI Head Coach Ben Jacobson

"I thought it was a good basketball game. Missouri State is an experienced team and they got a lead and did what experienced teams do to get a lead. I also thought Jordan Eglseder got a couple of baskets and provided good energy off the bench. Travis (Brown) got a good look in the corner to take the lead and it just didn't go in."

"Missouri State is tough to defend because they put three guards on the floor, they ball screen and they stretch you out. They have the ability to go small and we have to figure out how to guard their actions because of their personnel."

"I'm disappointed in our play at home. Your home court has to be special. We don't need to look any further than our home losses as to why we are where we are. We have to do a better job of defending our home court."

UNI Guard Brooks McKowen

"We don't like to lose because all of us are so competitive. Both teams fought hard tonight. Nobody likes to lose but we've got to fight through it and things will start going are way."

"This league is tough. We've got to protect our home court because road games are so tough. We've got to keep improving and doing the right things in practice. Missouri State his some really big shots tonight but we've just got to keep getting better."

Missouri State Head Coach Barry Hinson "I felt like we played solid defense defense all over tonight. We were not going to let Stout and Coleman beat us. UNI was going to have to beat us from the perimeter. Our transition defense was good tonight ... in Springfield it was awful."

"Even when we got the lead to 10, I knew it was going to come down to the wire. We told our guys to make simple plays. At the half we decided to make it simple and quit calling plays and just put it in our players hands."

Missouri State Guard Blake Ahearn

"It was just two teams wanting to win. It's hard to keep your composure but it wasn't anything too bad. It was just two teams competing hard."

"The guys found me early and got my confidence going. It makes it easy when you have so many guys who can score points."
