ST. LOUIS (AP) - Grant Stout had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lift sixth-seeded UNI to a 57-42 win over third-seeded Missouri State in the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament.

UNI (23-8) tied a school record for victories in a season and can break it with a win over second-seeded Southern Illinois in Saturday's semifinal.

Brooks McKowen added 13 points and Ben Jacobson had 12 for the Panthers.

Tyler Chaney scored 14 points to lead Missouri State (20-8), which shot just 28 percent (15-52) from the floor. The Bears had a five-game winning streak snapped and will have to hope for an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.

UNI trailed by two points at the half, but the Panthers went on a 16-2 run to start the second half to take a 37-25 lead. Stout led the run with six points.

Defensively, the Panthers allowed Missouri State just one field goal on 13 shots during that stretch.

Missouri State's leading scorer during the regular season, Blake Ahearn, was held scoreless in the first half. He finished with just two points, going 0-for-5 from the field.

But Chaney picked up the slack in the first half, making all four of his shots and scoring 10 points to help Missouri State to a 23-21 halftime advantage.
