Recap |  Box Score |  Notes

UNI HEAD COACH Greg McDermott:

"Well, I made the statement after we beat the Bears in January that I felt like we just beat a team that's good enough to be in the NCAA tournament, and we beat a better team tonight than the one we played in January, so I'm really proud of our guys."

On the matchup with Southern Illinois in tomorrow's semifinals:

"We've had two games with them that have been decided by really nothing. I think it was tied at 48 when we went to overtime at our place and 46-45 in Carbondale on Saturday. We just have great respect for how they play and the way they go about things. Coach Lowery's a class act, and our coaching staffs are really good friends. It's going to be tough to see either team lose tomorrow."

Grant Stout

"Offensively we made some shots. It feels like everything's going to go down for you and gets our defense that much more pumped up. We push a little bit more. It seems like once you make a few shots, everything starts clicking."

Ben Jacobson:

"Our defense was what sparked that (early second half) run, and because we got stops, we were able to get some things in transition and got some easy opportunities. We were able to get it inside a couple times early. Grant got to the free throw line. We went on a little run there and then we just kept attacking them and Eric Coleman really gave us a big spark in the second half."
