Recap |  Final Stats

UNI Head Coach Ben Jacobson

On 10-day layoff between games:

"With 10 days off we were really concerned after our last game (62-55 loss to Iowa on Dec. 5). We worked hard for this game and now we've got a short turnaround for UMKC on Wednesday."

On UNI's 49-27 edge in rebounding:

"We've always expected our big guys to rebound, but our guards have to rebound, that's something we've found out."

On Carlton Reed's UNI debut after missing team's first eight games:

"I'm glad Carlton was able to get out and play. It's been a long time since he's played, and it's going to be a long process to get him back to where he was before his injury."

On team's improvement since last game:

"We did a lot better job tonight in transition with our offense."

UNI guard Carlton Reed

On bouncing back from broken foot:

"Once you get that first basket, it feels like a huge weight is lifted off. Right now, I'd say I'm at about 85 percent. After another week or two of practice, I'll be back to full strength."

On his eight-point night:

"Once I found the comfort zone, I felt pretty good. It's just about getting a feel for the game again."

Wartburg Head Coach Dick Peth

On the effects of team's 24-percent shooting:

"We knew we would have trouble scoring inside with UNI's height advantage. We knew we had to make jumpers to stay in the game, and we struggled to do that."

On the next step for Wartburg:

"We've just got to forget about the game, put it behind us and try to learn something from it."
